Coppell Swim & Dive turned in a strong showing Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the second annual Lamar Invitational at the Arlington Aquatic Center. The Cowboys finished first overall, while the Cowgirls placed third against a field that included McKinney North, Arlington Lamar, Richardson and Eaton.
Abhinav Agnihotri led the Cowboys with two individual gold medals. He also helped Coppell earn a gold and silver in relay competition.
Virginia Hall led the Cowgirls with an individual gold and silver. She added two bronze medals as part of Coppell relay teams.
The meet provided another early-season measuring point for Coppell as the Cowboys and Cowgirls showed the results of their second month of training.
Coppell also made its presence known outside the pool. The freshman swimmers brought a cowbell to Arlington and kept it ringing whenever a Coppell swimmer was in the water, helping turn the meet into a loud one for the Cowboys and Cowgirls.
